Visa Information



Even if we provide you this information, check also yourself the policy regarding your country.
European Union countries citizens do not require a visa to enter Greece. They only require a valid passport or an ID card (for Schengen countries)

Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Iceland, Switzerland and USA citizens, entering Greece for a period of less than 3 months require only a valid passport. They do not require a visa.
For visits exceeding 3 months, authorization must be obtained in person by applying to the Aliens Bureau at least 20 days prior to the 3-month expiration date.

Citizens of countries other than the above, should contact the nearest Greek Consulate office or Greek Embassy with regard to visa requirements. To locate the Greek Consulate office or Greek Embassy nearest to you, please refer to the following lists:

If you require an official document stating that you will be traveling to Greece to attend WISTP2007, to submit it to the appropriate Greek Consular Authorities, please send e-mail to wistp2007sec@xlim.fr

Please make sure that you deal with these matters as early as possible, so as to have enough time to deal with possible and/or unexpected difficulties.

 

INVITATION LETTERS

If you require an Invitation Letter to apply for a visa to enter Greece, register you at the workshop, pay the registration fees and e-mail the following information to wistp2007sec@xlim.fr

1./ first and last name, exactly as written in the passport
2./ affiliation (institution name, address, phone, fax, e-mail)
3./ date of birth
4./ passport number
5./ country where the passport was issued
6./ date passport was issued
7./ date of expiry of the passport
8./ dates of your stay in Greece (i.e. May 8, 2007 - May 11, 2007)

The invitation letter can be:
1./ e-mailed to you as a .pdf file
2./ sent to you by fax
Indicate in your e-mail if you prefer a .pdf file or a fax, or both.
